FERRARI 500 SUPERFAST
1966 Ferrari 500 Superfast RHD. Blue Chiaro with Tan interior. The 500 Superfast was Ferrari’s flagship model, continuing from the 400 Superamerica and was built for Film Stars and Royalty.
With its specially developed 5 litre V12 engine producing nearly 400 BHP, it was a beautiful and powerful machine at the very top of its class. The factory only ever produced 36, making it rarer than a 250 GTO and, with only eight right hand drive cars produced, this car is of significant historic interest. Chassis number 6661 was first sold to Jack Durlacher and still displays the same registration number as it did when it was new. It was delivered with the later specification 5 speed gearbox and the history is well documented through the years with previous owners including Rod Leach and Richard Atwood. In 1993 it was bought by Francesco and Julia De Baldanza and Bob Houghton Limted looked after the car for the next 20 years. It was then sold to the current owner in 2013 who asked us to undertake a full bare metal restoration returning the car back to its original Blue Chiaro colour. The engine was fully rebuilt and the axle and gearbox restored as well as a complete re-chrome and full suspension rebuild. The interior trim was left as it was to enable the owner to enjoy the patina of driving a classic car and it comes with full Classiche certification. It has now covered 51,386 miles from new and, fully run in, is ready for its next discerning owner to appreciate the uniqueness and design of this ultra-rare 60s Ferrari.
