Bob – CEO / Founder
Bob Houghton, our founder is unparalleled in his knowledge of the classic Ferrari. Respected globally as one of the best in the business he continues to consult clients and provide direction to our younger technicians. His grandchildren allocate a large percentage of his time these days however remains heavily involved with the company.
Russell – Service / Sales Manager
With over 25 years in the business Russell Smith is a trusted and well respected name in the Ferrari world. Russell is responsible for the majority of the cars in the workshop organising a detailed overview as well as providing unique information regarding potential sales. He prides himself on his commitment to maintaining a cars originality whilst finding a fair result for the customer. His experience is not to be underestimated and a true asset to the company.
Justin – Parts Manager
Our hugely experienced parts manager Justin has been in the parts business for many years forming vital relationships with well known suppliers. Whether it be direct from Ferrari or nationally sourced, Justin will refine his search and regularly locate the correct item that best suits that particular project.
Simon – Specialist Technician
A perfectionist at heart and a true craftsman Simon looks to better himself everyday. Simon has extensive experience with not only Ferrari but many other famous marques such as Alpha Romeo, Lamborghini and Aston Martin. Before joining BHL in 2020 Simon honed his craft at Fiennes Restoration and the renowned Light Car Company obtaining valuable skills he utilises today. A meticulous eye for detail and passion for mechanicals makes him a crucial member of the team.
Eddie – Specialist Technician / Fabricator
Eddie is our resident F40 / 288 GTO specialist who is obsessed with turbos. Since joining the team in 2020 from the Light Car Company he’s proved his understanding of many models particularly the F40 and their complex systems. His fabrication skills are also to be admired as the quality of his work is that of an artist.
Daniel – Specialist Technician
From day one Daniel has been a motivating and positive character who enjoys the intricacies of a classic Ferrari. With bundles of experience on the 250 SWB, GTO and 275 models he’s proud to be an established member of the Bob Houghton team. Having carried out his studies at Bicester Heritage Skills Academy, firstly with motorsport then classic, and then working extensively with the SWB at GTO Engineering he boasts valuable knowledge of this famous marque.
Mike – Specialist Technician
A thorough and meticulous technician with over 20 years of experience on Ferrari he is well accustomed to the classic Ferrari. Over the years Mike has worked alongside the best in the business from specialist engineers to Ferrari Challenge race series technicians developing his craft on 355, 360 and 550 models. A team player with a willingness to assist with any diagnosis and mechanical issue that may be raised.
Alfie – Specialist Technician / Trainee
Our youngest technician Alfie has an impressive mindset towards modern and classic Ferrari bringing a youthful approach to diagnosis. From the 275 GTB to the F12 Berlinetta he is rapidly gaining the experience required of a well-respected specialist technician. We’re proud to have him at Bob Houghton’s and excited to be a part of his ongoing development.
James – Specialist Technician
Since joining the Bob Houghton team in 2022 James has shown a great understanding of modern electrical systems and diagnostics software. Whilst performing regular timing belt renewals and annual services he’s quickly become our modern Ferrari diagnosis specialist looking after a number of 458, FF and F12 models.
Jamie – Specialist Technician
As our newest team member Jamie arrives with considerable knowledge and experience of modern and classic Ferrari. A background in engineering and machining enables a unique understanding of coachwork and build quality. Originality is an integral part of his work and formally of Thornley Kelham he has a great understanding of the processes.
Simon – Specialist Technician
Simon ‘Barney’ Barnwell is an established member of the Bob Houghton team who has a passion for motorsports and classic cars. To his credit working for Minardi and Arrows F1 teams brings a unique perspective to restorations and engine refinement. Having performed several restorations including a beautiful Aston Martin DB5 he continues to manage all Aston Martin models in the workshop alongside his Ferrari duties.
Christine – Company Accountant
A crucial part of the business regularly cracking the whip. Christine is meticulous with her organising and is the first voice you’ll hear on an enquiry. She has a great relationship with all the staff and always happy to help.
Mark – Collection and Delivery Driver
Spending a number of years as transport driver for F1 Team Arrows, Mark is well practised with the loading and unloading of high value vehicles. Always one for a smooth transition, he likes to be extremely organised and punctual with every journey. A valued member of the team that provides an important link with our customers and their cars.
Sam – Detailer
With already a huge passion for cars Sam brings a fresh approach to detailing. He takes his work seriously and has an appreciation for luxury cars beyond the showroom. Sam provides a wealth of experience and only uses the highest quality products.
Dave – Company Handyman
David has been at the company since 2000 assisting for many years as our detailer. Since his semi-retirement he has remained a vital asset to the business looking after the building, collecting parts and general maintenance. The master of the Dad joke.
